Peru
Peru is a country with a rich history of ancient civilizations and environmental diversity and many striking cultural traditions. Yet, it is also a country that has left behind many of its recent problems with political instability and an uncertain economy.
WorldCircle currently focuses much of its aid efforts into this part of the world.
The work of WorldCircle continues to make inroads in the effort to eradicate poverty and provide better opportunities for the Peruvians of today and tomorrow.
WorldCircle will primarily focus its efforts on the many Andean communities located in the high-altitude Peruvian highlands, including the villages of Pampacorral and Cancha Cancha. In such communities, via an organization called Round Square, greenhouses have been constructed that will allow the local people to grow much needed vegetables and herbs that will provide a nutritional supplement to their carbohydrate-oriented diet.
Necessary surveys have been conducted to constantly reevaluate the priorities of our projects. In addition, other small but important environmental tasks, such as planting trees and digging waste pits, have been carried out. A Peruvian non-profit organization called ECOAN (Eco Sistemas Andinos) contributed to the project's success.
